No my parents had it for probably 6 years the they gave it to me. I'm gonna get some rust prevention spray and coat the frame with it.

If its already failed that means there are holes in the frame and spray isnt going to help. Your best bet (if Toyota cant help) would be to have some of the frame cut out and new plates welded in.

When I looked at it I couldn't even find where they did the text. The frame has little to no rust on it (from looks) but the people at yota know more than I do

An argument could be made that the damage occurred within the time frame of the warranty. I have won a similar argument with Ford over an out-of warranty transmission problem.

Can you take some pictures of the rust?

Like someone else mentioned, when these frames fail rust inspection there are usually holes in the frame from rust; usually in the area of the front leaf spring hanger.

I think so too. If it's only two months out and Toyota corporate says no then it is worth getting a lawyer to write a letter to them. Toyota put out that 15 year warranty because they know they have a huge safety defect. It's been well publicized now and I think they just need a little push.

Sucks that they put that warranty out to "do the right thing" and now they want to get out of it on a technicality (inspection done late)

The weak spot is right around where the front leaf spring hanger is on the frame if I recall.

    Oh my...

    :(

The rust occurred during the recall period and if you called as soon as you got the notice, I'd try again to see if something can be worked out since it seems they may have gotten the letter out to you late. I would not deem that as safe.

I dont think the holes are from rust; they look drilled. Since there is one above it.

They are supposed to smack the frame with a hammer. If the hammer goes through they fail the frame. I don't see a hammer hole in those pictures.

I'll can take some better pics if you all would like? I couldn't find where they hit it with the hammer I searched for ever. I've hit it with a hammer my self after they did to see how bad it was and it seemed pretty solid never went through any where I tried.

I think they were just trying to sell you a new truck.

They hit the frame w/ a hammer and if the hammer penetrates the frame, or the strength is suspect; they will fail it.

The biggest area of concern is the inside of the frame right by the front leaf spring hanger.

If there are no holes in your frame you should be fine.

I would just clean as much of the rust off as you can and coat the frame with some anti-rust paint of coating.
