Whether what I read is 100% true or not, what I outlined seems like a prudent plan.

In the day & the life of this economy.... In case you haven't noticed, but... those good quality parts (if they still exist) have increased in cost and/or have lost a shit ton of quality. "They don't make 'em like they used to"

The choices of quality parts either don't exist or they cost way too much. If Toyota went with expensive, quality parts... the trucks would cost a shit-ton more than they do now. They're not going to put that much expense in parts if its not a good investment in sales.

EVERY business & automotive manufacturer is experiencing the same things.

Just 15 years ago...I would've never purchased an extended warranty on an appliance. Today? I buy extended warranty on most ALL my appliances and have used them on many occasions. Everything has gone downhill.
Toyota is still one of the best quality vehicles you can buy.

Which in turn is why I bought the extended warranty for mine. Although I have never kept a vehicle longer than three years. I was going to with this one, but with living in New England I probably won't now. I would have thought after owning a 1998 ( Bought Back) 2005, 2010, and now a 2015 these issues would have been gone. But again Toyota doesn't have to give a shit about quality. their stuff will sell all day long. Do the 4 Runners have all these issues as well? Because I think I am going to trade my 11,000 mile 2015 Tacoma in for one.

Did you do any research before buying? Toyota rust issues have been out for years. So, why did you buy it in the first place?? If you were that concerned about it, you probably should've never bought one. Just sayin......

Sadly I didn't actually do any research either because I figured after they stopped using Dana they would have been smart enough to find another frame company to not have these problems. Very sad that I was wrong, but I won't have it long enough to worry about it. You have your opinion and I have mine. Let's just hope Toyota gave enough consideration to the consumers on the 2016's. But then again probably not because they don't need to. They sell themselves.

So who has had one of the Hino frame tucks rust out? Oh and 4Runners rust out too. My 05 was fairly rusty underneath.

But surface rust, and perforation due to an incorrectly applied coating are 2 different things. Steel rusts, it's a part of life. Toyota has done a lot to make the issue right. More than most other manufacturers.

My dad has a 99' dakota and uses it daily. Everytime it gets inspected they always comment how solid it is underneath. This is in ASSachusetts mind you.
