There are a ton of cool things to see in Louisville. Just off the top of my head I would recommend the Fraizer Arms Museum, Louisville Slugger Museum and the Science Museum. If you were to stay on 75 out of Cincinnati you will go by Georgetown, home of Toyotas largest plant and the Toyota Camry. They do tours. I can't recommend Mammoth Cave enough. It should be at the top of your list! Make sure to try a Bourbon Barrel Ale, an Ale 8 and a hot brown. All very Kentucky and all worth trying!

Lake Cumberland area is scenic as well! Maybe a bit out of your way, but it can be worth it.

Also, on the way home you can take a short detour to Ft. Knox to see the gold depository. Obviously you can't tour it or anything but it's neat to see! The Patton Museum is there if your a military history buff.

Depending on the timing, and your interests, Google "Somernites Cruise" if you like classic cars, street rods, and muscle cars.

Knob Creek Range is also near Ft Knox in West Point Kentucky, you can rent a full auto machine gun... Not sure if they have that in Canada.

Awesome guys, thanks for the input. Looks like an early morning departure this Sunday (still gotta get a handle on the weather forecast)

We pushed it out to Sunday because of the NASCAR race crowds and such...any issues around the Louisville area due to the race or after?

No, shouldn't be any at all. There is usually a gaggle around there but the rest of the time it should be smooth sailing.

Louisville is a "convention city"....lots of motel rooms. The NASCAR event is well over an hour drive away from Louisville. With that, not an issue.

I live about 20 minutes from Knob Creek gun range! When they do night shoots, you can hear 'em from the back yard

That's pretty much on the return route. Did that in vegas day after I got married...if it fits in the tight schedule, might just veer off the highway for that. Wife's up for it

You can cross the Corvette factory off your list, no tours until 2018. All the info you need is on the Corvette museum web site

When I was stationed at Knox we would be in the field and could hear the semi annual machine gun shoot. It gave us a run for our money!

It's a neat base with a ton of history. It use to be the home of the Armor and Cavalry but they have since moved them both to Ft Benning in Georgia. Still, there is alot of neat stuff to see there!

You got some of the best July weather we have to offer too! You're 19 miles south of where I live.

Was a decent trip...fuck Ohio, i75 sux balls.

The route off of 71 down 127 was awesome. Must have seen at least 35 Tacoma's on that stretch...
