EDIT: I decided to go with it, and just finished this last night. Pics to follow as soon as I get home from work! SOOOO Stoked that you guys talked me into this!!!

    First, some history:
Just installed a set of FJ Cruiser SE (Gunmetal, Anthracite, whatever you want to call it) wheels on my Taco.
Ordered a White grille surround to replace my stock chrome one.
Just about to hack the brand new grille to make a "Satoshi"

Now, I have everything sitting here... and I just laid my new grille out. The grille is a sport grille off of a 2010, and I just realized that the grille insert matches the FJ Cruiser SE wheels perfectly. I'm trying to decide if I should install the grille as-is or go ahead with my previous plans of hacking it up and doing a satoshi mod.

Here's a pic of my truck, currently:

Here's a pic of what I have been planning on doing, have everything in hand. (Not my truck, just borrowed the pic)

Yeah I heard they match perfectly. I say run the color matched one for a while. You could always sand paint ect the chrome one for a little project. BTW where did you end up buying the color matched one from.

Personally on my last taco I painted the grill to match my silver sport. This time around I like the way the grey matches up with the green truck. That's one reason why I went and got the anthracite fj rims. I personally like how the rims and grill match. I'd say leave it now the way it is and if in the future u get bored with it then change it up.

    LOL! no harm, no foul.

I used your pic because it's essentially what mine is going to look like if I go through with the Satoshi mod. I already have a grillcraft and a set of IPF 968s lying here.

At any rate, I just put the grille on... and I can't get used to it. I have the black lower valance and the gunmetal grille just doesn't look right to me.

    Satoshi, here we come!

Leave the grille and surround but get a sport hood...
Tires, wheels and lift look really good so far though!
