Will do! I bought the undercoating kit from Kellsport with their spray gun and everything. I plan to apply it this fall. So far I've just sprayed some some exposed black iron piping for my propane line that was rusting, the inside of my tailgate where some rust had started to form and my hitch which was pretty rusty. It's been about a month and a half, the stuff has been exposed to the elements the whole time and it's still oily to touch. The stuff really doesn't dry! We'll see how it holds up to salt spray this winter.

 

Sweet. How are you going to spray? Just jack the truck up? And the fluid is clear right? No harm in over spray? Sorry if these have been answered before. I just found this thread

 

Yeah, pretty much. I was going to do a half assed job masking it off but the stuff is safe to get on the paint. You can actually use it as a wax if you apply it lightly and rub it in. I actually used it as a wax on the chrome bumper. A month later and water still beads up on it. If you apply it really thin and apply it like a normal wax, it rubs in clear and doesn't leave that oily residue. For the frame, I'm just going to spray it on thick, then take it down a dusty road

Lots of folks. Simply google "Fluid Film" and "test". Or search You Tube for "Fluid Film". Tons of proof out there of the effectiveness of this stuff. The snow plow guys have given it the hardest real worlds tests.

I don't think there is any need for the dusty road step.

 

It's not required, I just want the dirt on there so it's not oily as hell. Figured the dirt would just help protect the Fluid Film layer.

This stuff is awesome, sprayed my whole under carriage with it.

 

So how many cans are rocommended for the entire undercarrage? Taco, DC/LB...

 

I just used my sample can on my rear exposed frame by the wheel well. Looks good but i do not like that its still moist 24hrs after initial application. Ill see how it holds up.

 

What's the best method for spraying the undercarriage? Should I mask off the truck? Should I have it on a lift? Or does jacking it up getting under and spraying work just fine?

Does this stuff wash out of your hair and skin? I don't really want to crawl under the truck and spray around if I can't wash it off myself...

I don't know if this was tested on Humans, but it is supposed to not be bad for the environment. Take that as you will
