Lightly used Raybestos master cylinder for... maybe like a 2007 Tundra? Believed to be functional... <6mo and <5k mi in service. Then six months sitting like this in my garage. Cost like $100 new?

No, it is not an direct swap in for Tacomas. And this part alone provides no benefit.

But if you have a 2nd gen with the vacuum booster, then upgrading to the Tundra booster provides greatly increased brake pedal authority and stopping power. This is because Tundras used a 2-stage booster, vs. one-stage for Tacomas. Greater mechanical advantage, so to speak.

To use the Tundra booster, you need a Tundra master cylinder. Which is what I'm offering. Plus you need to modify the pedal linkage and brake lines. Search the forum for details. A bit of work, and this is only one part. But this part is free.

I had brake issues not long after the upgrade. Blamed this aftermarket master cylinder--only part I cheaped out on--and replaced it with new oem. Brake fluid everywhere. Didn't help, pedal still dropped to the floor before brakes braked.

Turned out my rotors and pads were simply shot. Doh. Replaced both plus new calipers, then bled at dealership, now brakes are firmer than ever possible with stock Tacoma vacuum brakes. Awesome.

I can post parts list for upgrade if you want it. But only if you let me ship you this used master cylinder.

 

Have 2 oem 4Runner oil filters, just send me a label and I’ll get them out to you.

Adding to the chat, Ajt fob case, black with blue screws, buttons are there just closed inside of it, this is the version that has the spring loaded release button on the side for the backup key in the base.
