I'm going to disagree here for a second. The old testament (old covenant) was whiped clean by the sacrafice of Christ. The New Testament is the new law. And, I am done on that part.

Really? I am in favor of gay marriage (or some such legally binding union), but I supported, or more correctly OPPOSED the radical Leftists knee-jerk over-reaction to what I felt was an honest statement about the Cathey family's values. And I have supported the 1st Amendment protections my entire life. What we are continuing to see is the true intolerance of the Left...they are only tolerant if they agree with you.

BUT, as a show of good humor, I do believe Dan Cathey should send Roseanne Barr, and the mayors of Chicago and Boston a nice thank you note with cupons for free food as a way of showing his appreciation for the HUGE boom in business their statements granted the company.

I'm admittedly half poking for the fun of it but I'm also genuinely curious. Genesis was old testament. Did that also get wiped clean? How is that reconciled with the dismissal of old when new came along?

The laws. Not the whole book. Just the laws of old, such as not eating pork (which you can now eat not fully cooked), not wearing clothes of 2 different animals and the like. I haven't argued/explained it in a long time.

    1. I said SOME of the TW members, not all.

    2. I am straight and have been married for 20 years on Nov 14.

    3. I didn't call him a "Good Ole Boy", I said, Ya done good, (comma) ole boy!

Those would be called facts. I know, I know, they really do tend to get in the way sometimes, but unfortunately, we all have to live with them.

No worries MJP2. The laws in the old testament were wiped clean. While the Old Testament focused on rules and consequences, the New Testament offers a message of love and hope which is what a lot of people tend to not see when thinking of Christianity.

That's my point -- bacon is awesome. :D

Also, naysayers of any organization will grab hold of the most obscure, irrelevant rules and use them as proof of folly. In reality, members pick and choose what to follow and what to discard, so the rules held fast by a person are telling of that individual's personal beliefs more than the beliefs of the organization.

Fundamentalists are a whole different story and are generally concerning no matter what group they belong to. Blindly and unquestioningly following any teachings is a dangerous thing.

FACT: Nobody involved in the Chik-Fil-A organization never said anything about homosexuals, hatred, or gay marriage.

On a side note....it probably won't happen, but I hope we can all be respectful of others opinions and values and not bash those who believe in God and those who don't. I'm just worried this thread will become a debate on theology and weather God really exists which is why most of these types of threads get closed because people start getting angry and defensive. I may not agree with everyone's opinions on these subjects but it is your right to have those opinions and I will respect you all for it.

Thanks for clearing that up for me "George Strait"! I guess all the people that are upset about it are wrong and took it out of context, huh?
