Discussing the topic doesn't require personal attacks, so cut those out folks.

Technically this thread should have been shut down as we typically don't allow discussions like this in B/S/T threads but I've left it open due to a couple of decent conversations underway.

Honestly, who cares what they do with their money? If someone doesn't want their money going to those organizations, don't support the supporters of those organizations (ie. don't eat more chicken).

This is where the problem is. Christians are taught to always promote the word of God. If you're a Christian and a business owner then it is hard to not let the two get in the way of each other. If you promote God it can hurt the business, if you don't because of your business you're not being true to God according to the Bible.

I for one love the ownership. Anyone that has ever ate at a Chick fil a knows how well mannered the kids working there are. Always polite and helpful. I don't see this at McDonalds, BK, or others, not very often anyway. Plus this company does a lot for these kids. They give them college tuition and are willing to work with the kids as far as their hours are concerned knowing their schedules are hectic.

    "disclaimer"

jumping in here (havent read all the posts)

But why should it matter who they give their money to? It is THEIR money and not anyone else's. no one should be telling them where to spend it or what to invest in. People need to stop getting their panties in a bunch over this dumb stuff - a bunch of complainers if you ask me. They have a great business plan and make a ton of money....there are a million other companies out there who support things that many would disagree with. If they dont like it dont spend your money there and STFU.

I own an oil and gas contract and consulting company, and I am a Christian man and when you walk into my office it's obvious my beliefs by the photos on the wall and the bible in the foyer as well as my daily devotional and bible on my desk. I volunteer locally and at my Church all as a way of bringing more people to the Lord and spread his word. Ask me and I will be honest. If it costs me business then I will make it up somewhere else but as Tacodawgfan stated, Christians are meant to spread the word of the Lord and that calling is for all Christians and should always be above anything else. Put God first and everything else will fall into place and I believe those are the same principles that Mr. Cathy uses, and obviously, those principles have led to successes.

I'm glad someone finally brought up the fact that they send millions to organizations that have radical anti-gay views. Thats the real issue here even though everyone is focusing on the guy answering a question when directly asked the question. They've supported these causes for years and no one complained til this guy said something. Hell Forbes had an article about the cult-like nature of Chic-fil-a and about where their money goes like 5 years ago.

Don't get me wrong I don't agree at all with their stance and I'm all for gay rights as it doesn't effect my life. Let them do what they want. With that being said I couldnt care less about the companies stance they're entitled to their opinion and the right to send their profits where they want. I'll still eat there. Doesn't mean I support their view. Anyone boycotting is just being a hypocrite because its guaranteed we all buy from companies that do shitty things. Doesnt mean you agree. By that logic anyone who owns anything from Nike supports killing dogs because they sponsor Mike Vick. You always hear about workers at the iPhone plants killing themselves due to poor conditions so anyone with an iPhone supports suicide and treating your workers badly. Give me a break.

All this drama over mediocre fast-food chicken sandwiches and a person's right to be married.

Says something about the U.S. of A., though I'm not quite sure what yet.
