The ball joint moved back provides positive CASTER. with this increase in caster, it's usually pretty easy to dial in camber with the adjustment available on the LCAs.

Usually with OEM arms people are tweaking things to get max caster and lose the adjustment ability to fix any camber correction needed.

My specs were right on the money for toe and camber.

So here’s the best comparison pictures I could make between the JBA, OEM, and Freedom. I am 95% sure the Freedoms would have been fine with the extended kings. They didn’t come close to contacting the old coil over and I had 3.5 caster0B1FBB61-CA9B-4122-B686-7AA423F85421.jpgEF1E6185-E7DD-4719-8323-A1B84AF7E0B1.jpg D7A12647-EBE5-48B6-843C-CB0EE53EEAA7.jpg4EA39B94-1F17-44F9-9CF9-B825429DB690.jpg

Yes, I do. I put them on the truck September 28, 2018. I’ve put approximately 15k miles on them since then. I could do $280, shipping included. I also have my 5100s with 886 coils if you’re interested. Can ship the control arms out today. Don’t have the shocks with me.

I just stepped up to kings with 700# coils and adjusters and honestly the 5100s with 886 feel really similar in some aspects. I feel a lot of small imperfections in the road, especially slow. That could be e range tire and heavy coils though. The kings take better big hits at speed and overall just feel like they’re cycling better if that makes sense, but I don’t think it’s a proportional performance for dollar spent.

5100s and coils are probably as good as it gets before jumping to something with a resi. I just don’t think there’s any middle ground. It’s either resi or no resi, and resi comes at a base price of expensive.

I just got mine in yesterday. I did take some pictures of the ball joints mine do you have a number on them however I was not able to cross reference them into anything. I did write freedom off road And there are response was they are proprietary ball joints. Also my bushings had a number on them as well. So if anybody is better with part numbers and cross-referencing I think that would help us all out

Recently installed freedoms UCA, 5100s with 885s. Here’s the alignment post install. And about 150miles of break in.

I bought a set off the marketplace back in the winter. I just got around to installing them over the weekend. I can't get an alignment until next week, but overall they feel great so far.

The bushing were in great shape, but I wanted to replace the ball joints. I had to order them straight from Freedom Off-Road because I couldn't find any parts store equivalent. I managed to get them out with a hand ball joint press, but they refused to go back in and fully seat until I took them to work and used a 20T shop press.

I run Fox 2.0's and had to raise my front about 4 turns, but that needed to happen after I installed the Icon AAL in the rear and left the stock overload in place. I'm still a little higher in the rear which works out great when I have my bed rack and tent installed.

Overall pretty happy with the UCAs. I'll post alignment specs next week.

If you contact Freedom Off-Road they can sell you just the boot (crazy how fast a shop press can tear a piece of rubber). They are also pretty easy to install with a curved pick.

Got my alignment today after a week of driving on the Freedom UCAs.

Extremely surprised at the amount of caster these provided. I was expecting 3 degrees of caster, not 4.5+ degrees. Steering feel is night and day.

Installed the Freedom UCA’s with Bilstein 6112’s up front. A lot more clearance compared to the OEM UCA.

My question is related to the alignment. I’ve seen some numbers that are a bit all over the place. Admittedly I know very little about alignment in relation to aftermarket suspension other than the very basic stuff. I took it to a local shop and the guy had it taken care of in just about an hour.

Everything is in the “green”. I’m guessing this is all in relation to OEM alignment specs?

The freedom upper control arms look a lot like my my Nitro Gear upper arms do they use rubber factory style bushing? My Nitro Gear arms are for sale if anyone is interested they have about 500 miles on them I removed them because I have 10” wide wheels and it was causing to much tire rub with the added cast.6F67F53D-B755-4A84-AB6A-4649098E56AA.jpg

So this is my first post, so go easy on me.....lol.
So I see this thread is kinda old, buy om this particular subject, I have fought the good fight and have come up with an answer....
When I spoke with someone from freedom offroad, I was assured that only their ball joints would fit, like they were special somehow. Didn't sit well with me so I started doing some research. I thought it would be cake to find a ball joint that would interchange, however it seems nobody has taken the time to find an answer, tho there are alot of guys asking the question. So I decided I would. I grabbed my nice set of calipers and got as much dimensional data of various press in style upper ball joints as I could. I'll skip the boring part about the hours I spent comparing specs, and jump right to the good news......there is a parts store, readily available, replacement ball joint for these UCA'S......several brands make this ball joint, including Moog, Drive works, 555, etc.......part # K6694..........the press in portion is the same as the unbranded one(1.8), the top "hat" is also the same(2.1), it's a directional ball joint just like the unbranded one. Length is the same, and the taper on the stud is also the same...hope this helps

    Hurray!!

    Thanks a bunch!
I too was searching and searching, but could not find anything out, I **knew** they did not make them. it seemed impossible they would have this custom spec "thing" ya know? But my searches were very fruitless and dead ended.

The ultimate question, have you tried it out yet?
I'm going to order some right now as my boot's on the BJ's are both torn
