Returned home after close to 5 months away, to find not one, but two letters from Toyota about the gas pedal recall. Yesterday morning I took the truck in, and thanks God I asked the guy to walk around my truck as is in pristine condition. This morning as I pulled in the loner I've got yesterday, I see a damaged rear bumper. The adjuster is very apologetic and backs me up all the way. The question is: should let them do the repairs, or file a claim with my ins.? I am afraid the dealer will do a cheap job just to get me out of the door. As I went around the truck this morning, I have seen that the gap between the box and the cab isn't uniform any more. The passenger side has a bigger gap then the driver side. So pissed I can't see strait.
    Thanks

The dealer should have there own insurance, you might have to have them estimate it, but you might be able to take it to a shop of your choice.

I would call my insurance company and have then estimate it. The dealership should have their own but get yours just to keep everyone honest. Hell I would even do my own 3rd party .. just to be safe.

That dealership is pretty strange, tried to buy my Taco there 3 weeks ago and they couldn't find the keys to the one I wanted. Come to find out 2 days later it was sold.

Strange? So far I find it lame and lamer still..........So much for the dealership close to the plant not sucking. Guess they had to be the example for the rest.

    definitly a strange dealer.
When I bought my truck one of the main selling points was the interest they "approved" for me and were going to give me. A few weeks after taking the truck home, I got a letter saying that I was no longer approved for that interest? Im like WTF!? But strangely I am making payments at the correct and specified intrest rate that i signed on.

If it were me I'd use my insurance. You might want to ask if it'll raise your premium and decide if that along with paying your deductible would be worth using your insurance.

Thanks guys, I chosen to file a claim with my ins. They said that if Toyota dealer assume responsibilities, they will reimburse my $250. deductible.
    Fair enough.
    take care

I will, just be patient with an old dog. One of this days I'll figure out how to post them.
    Take care
