An Avalanche is a lot of snow isn't it?

Since you're in Alabama, I'm going to assume this is a serious question. It's basically a snow slide down mountainous terrain - can be very deadly, and wipe out anything in their path - large trees get snapped like toothpicks. Here is a clip of an artificially triggered one in Norway:

I almost sent him the definition of the word but I was hoping he wasn't serious.

Well, I might feel dumb if he was joking. Then again finding that youtube clip was worth it.

That's a really good question! Somebody in our house, and it wasn't me, had a plan. I was worried about the storm and remember being told, how bad could it be? Usually we don't get snow like this so HE covers the driveway with cars. Then HE wipes off just enough snow to drive it somewhere and cleans off the rest. Usually we have just a little snow left in the driveway to shovel; this time, not so much...

Hi guys, the Avalance comment was just a play on words for the Chevy product. Yes, I am aware of and have seen news clips of skiers and snowmobiles swept away by an Avalanche. Have also seen footage of Forest Service personnel using some type of cannon for a preemptive trigger of an avalanche to avoid personal injury and death.

The problem with the Internet is that inflections and tongue in cheek comments often do not come across that way.

For whatever it is worth one of my sons lives in Utah (Greatest snow on earth) and has a season pass for skiing in Park City and another son worked a winter at Beaver Run in Breckenridge, Colorado. I have skied in Breckenridge and had a great time on snowmobile near Copper Mountain.

Carry on, no harm, no foul.

Today is a cold but beautiful sunshiney day :). We are almost all dug out but have no place to go! It could be days before a snow plow may be able to get through to our residential street. We were very lucky, we never lost power so its all Good!

This is what's in front of the Tacoma:

mr Skrain, red is actually my favorite color so I think it did a better job on you truck than ours, but...like others have noticed, you may have used just a little too much also :D. Hope you guys have as pretty a day today as we have.
