So I looked for an answer to the question (to no avail): where did “Friday” begin or what is the origin of “Friday”? I’ve only been around a few months and I see Friday gets referenced when stupidity or ridiculous ideas come around in a thread but still don’t know the whole story and I’m just inferring from context clues here. I ask this question on Friday while drinking bourbon with full realization of the high likelihood of subjecting myself to ridicule; to which I am absolutely comfortable with haha. Anyway let’s hear it if ya know the history of Friday. Let the ball breaking commence, cheers jerks!

    Dude...
The names for the days of the week in English seem to be a mixed bag. Saturday, Sunday and Monday are named after the celestrial bodies, Saturn, Sun and Moon, but the other days are named after Germanic gods, Tuesday (Tiw's day), Wednesday (Woden's day), Thursday (Thor's day) and Friday (Freya's day).
    Everybody knows this...

I don't think I have ever been drunk on a Friday, I save it for Saturday. There are always less Fridays than any other days of the week, with ths exception of Saturdays. That's why Fridays and the weekend go by so quick.

Fridays are no more. They happened for a brief while, but like all dumpster fires...they were eventually extinguished.

We know the archeological path of Friday threads.

But you'll have to puzzle it out for yourself or pay someone to tell you the truth. And pay someone else to verify you were given the truth.

    For story telling or verification?

If verification, are you certified as a verifier? As in you both know the truth and are licensed/bonded/insured to be an expert witness? :p

I know the story, but at my age I'm not reliable. However, for the right palm greasing I am a qualified verifier. You know, like the 'fact checkers' of the day.

I am a certifier varifier that allows me to rectifier amplifier which means that the mollifier nullifier goes into the codifier to get modifier ratifier which makes me a petrifier qualifier but I won't testfier or crucifier but I always satisfier but I can emulsifier in the humidifier witch will finally let me indemnifier.

Who in the hell is Geraldo... you mean that dude on the news? I quit watching the news many years ago. I check weather. I see what's happening in physics and science. I completely ignore social and political stories. I cast my one vote. I build stuff in my garage. I have a big garden. Just practicing for Scrabble.

Haha this turned out perfectly so far. No history, just awesome sarcasm and restating what is already known and diverting into irrelevancies. I don’t know what I expected but this is just perfect haha. Oh and I’m not drunk yet, just got a killer deal on some Longbranch so I thought I’d have a pour. Cheers to Friday, and the weekend TW!

Yeah, him. Picked that name 'cause he's the only one I remember. Because I quit too. Did see his 'stash pop up on the screen the other day, figured him for trying a comeback as an influencer.

Me too. Look out the window. Maybe check NOAA if things look funny.

Pretty much here too. But some are funny to watch.

Yep. I tried for more, but they told me I'd have to come back later to double dip.

I've been painting my garage walls with a 2" brush to kill some time between projects. Painted my fire suppression water pipes with red enamel too. Spiffy.

Condo here now. No garden. However, I do spend some time in the flower beds / hedges at church. I kept my hand tools so I could enjoy that.

I gave up scrabble. My wife is a mercenary Gurkha type player. Not safe for me.

Good news is we have now given the OP an outline of how a Friday thread develops.
