Made a platform and installed a Dometic CFX3 55IM in the back seat. Previously had a Pelican 70QT cooler. No more dealing with buying and replacing ice!0516CCF3-8BAA-4440-B2FD-B43F5797AB05.jpg

At the very least replace your battery with a hybrid one like Optima Yellow Top. It will start your car and can take deeper discharges than a regular (starting) battery. I would also consider a foldable solar panel suitcase type and when you're parked place the panels out (usually there are two 50 watt panels) and the alligator clips on the battery and i believe you will be good!

I went with the X2 Power 27F and it's been awesome so far. Over next couple weeks I plan on getting a Prinsu rack and mounting a 100w solar on top of it. It's never ending....

Question from my dumba$$: where are the bolts to remove the seat backs? Are they under the plastic back panel?

There’s plastic covers on each side of the back seat that need to be removed to expose the bolts.

Similar mission accomplished. I just used the existing seat hinges so that I can still access the storage compartment underneath.

Did y'all do 27F AGM? I'm looking at doing similar (fridge, solar, single battery). Have stock 24F that I'll probably run until it shits the bed, then replace with a 27F w/ a 100W solar (I have a 20W up there now). But with an AGM I'll need to tune, just wondering if y'all ran 27F non-AGM and had luck.

Thanks - and sorry to drag up old posts.

I run my fridge of a XPower 27F AGM, and have a 100W panel up on my roof rack. Having solar helps me run the fridge almost indefinitely. I typically drive daily when I'm out camping, so I end up getting my battery charged up. If it means anything, I have no problems running my fridge and diesel heater overnight on a single 27F battery.

Good suggestion. The product I use is the Victron Smart BatteryProtect. I don't use it for a fridge, but rather a fan and lights in the bed for camping but it's a pretty slick product. Everything that runs off of my aux fuse panel goes through it.

you don’t need to tune. It’ll be just fine without.

I ran the stock battery for a while but the capacity is pretty minimal (<24 hours)
