    hmmm..

I've had my truck speed out of control a few times now... However, my friend told me it happened to him in my truck, while he was picking up a female friend. He pressed the gas hard and it "Fell" from under his foot. He said he slammed on the brakes as hard as he could with his left foot, and used his right foot to pry from under the pedal and lift it off the floor. He said it took considerable force to get it to come back up, where he slid to a stop before slamming into cars at a red light...

Note: Truck is fine, no accident, all events stopped before damage. Truck is still deep red, with nice chrome wheels, lift kit, and amazing all the way around. I <3 the truck, 100%, even with it's own mind ;-)

No mats, pedal fell, and stuck. Does this sound like the normal recall? And keep in mind I'm in a 2007 Tacoma - not part of anything more than mat replacement. wth?

    Update--
Testing shows there's no physical connection to move the pedal in any regard, making my friends feedback have a few holes. The only possible way for a pedal to stick is:
    1) Gunking up the pedal assembly and having it compress and stay compressed
    2) Having it get physically stuck under / against something (mats, for example).
    3) Aliens. Bastards are everywhere.

I would agree with you all had it not happen to me. I went speeding through a parking lot and shoved it into neutral, slammed on the brakes and came to a stop. I was about 15' away from hitting a building; that would have sucked....

Look at Agenda's. What reason does he have to lie? I wasn't with him, and, I've had it happen to me, but I used neutral and cut power. It's an automatic. I had to push it into neutral, brake to a stop, put it into park and kill all power before the pedal came off the floor. Tapping didn't do a damn thing.

and no, not troll. I <3 my Tacoma, and I call out trolls on B.S.

Would love to. I'll mount a camera recording my truck any time I drive it, and post it when I get it - I suppose Toyota could use it, too, right??

This is the only case I have ever heard about the throttle sticking on a Tacoma. What you need to do if this is the case is inform Toyota and they will look at your truck and will be able to tell if thats the case.

Understand we're naturally going to be skeptical. There's a reason the Tacoma isn't part of the recall.

It seems to be the cool thing to say now a days is my Toyota is out of control. I didn't hear about this much before but all of a sudden in 2010 cars just start accelerating on their own...I think robots will soon take over the world.

f that. I love my Tacoma, I'm curious as to see if there are other Tacoma's in this situation. If not, that's great, I'll hit the stealership and have them pull logs if it happens again. I just don't press the gas all the way anymore, and no mats.

I know what to do, being an Engineer, if the thing sticks - neutral and kill the beast. Which, I've done. :)

BTW, Tacoma was part of the original recall, for the floor mats.
