I considered the Nissan before I bought my Taco but I'm just a big Toyota fan. I worked in the tier 1 automotive supply industry for several years and in that arena, Toyota has a better reputation for long term reliability. By all accounts, the Nissan is a good truck and would serve you well. I think the Toyota is better. I keep a vehicle for a long time so is a big deciding factor for me. I still have my 98 T-100 with about 270,000 miles on it and it's been a pretty good truck. They are pretty easy to work on too.

I think it will boil down to personal preference for you. Drive both and then decide.

What I know about Nissans, and all I need to know about Nissans:

Cheap vehicles with cheap ass interiors.

I think Nissan makes reliable vehicles, and from that stand point, I would not hesitate to buy one. However, I test drove a Frontier before I bought my Tacoma and decided it wasn't for me. It just felt very outdated, and as others have mentioned, the turning radius sucks. Much worse than I expected. I bought my Tacoma based on test driving and comparing the two, and I don't regret my decision at all. It all comes down to preferences. If you are happy with the Nissan, I don't think you can go wrong there either.

Like someone else on this thread, I had one of the Nissan hardbody trucks and I loved it. Neat little truck...very reliable. My only experience with the Frontier was with my son's Nismo edition, king cab. I drove it some and rode with him quite a bit. It was comparable to a TRD Sport Prerunner. I really liked the truck, but like some have said, not the most comfortable seating. Stout engine, but a rather bland interior. I didn't necessarily think it was louder than my Prerunner, but boy it had a rough ride. I rode with him from central Texas to Norfolk, Va., and I was glad to get out of the truck.

What truth? That they can buy a good truck for a decent chunk of change less than a Toy?
