    5 lug automatic - 3.58
    5 lug manual - 3.31

higher gear ratio in automatic than manual ..... does this mean automatic in highest gear (4th) will use less gas than the manual in 5th gear ??

Manual transmissions generally have a lower numerical gear ratio than a comparable automatic. Higher numerical gear ratio leads to higher RPM's for a given speed, which equates to increased fuel consumption.

i see. I got it reversed. I usually can average 28mpg on hwy in a manual 4 cylinder; i should expect less in the automatic i just got.

I'm running 29" also honestly I didn't feel that much of a difference, but if there was a loss, the improvement in handling was well worth it. The skinny 215 tires make the truck feel like it was all over the road

I'm on the fence. I know my truck would look awesome with some 235's on it, but I get amazing MPG right now, so I don't know if I want to sacrifice that.

I believe the largest you can go is 235/75/15
245 is the width, in mm. 70 is the sidewall height, as a percentage of the width.

245 is the width in mm.
70/75 is the aspect ratio of the width to sidewall height.
R15/16 is the diameter of the rim in inches.
