    So I traded my Black ‘16 TRD/OR for a Cement ‘21 TRD/OR. Here’s what I like on the ‘21 after only 1k miles.

    1. Leather seats. They’re very comfy and the power drivers seat is a nice addition. Being fun size (5’5”) it’s nice to have a little elevation in the seating position.

    2. Remote start and the app. Once you get beyond the fact big brother is tallying your every move in the app, it’s a great convenience. I’ve only used them two or three times since the weather is warming but not having an ice cold truck in a cold morning has been great. Even better, with summer coming having a cooled down truck that was in the hot sun will be golden. Especially with black leather seats baking in the sun. Say goodbye swamp a.....

    3. Apple CarPlay. There are some bugs but it is way better than Entune. Nice to have Waze on the big screen.

    4. Transmission. It is noticeably better. Shift points seem a bit higher in RPMs. The actual shifts are quick and not slow and reluctant as they were on my ‘16. I have yet to put it in “S” where as that was the mode I always drove in on my ‘16 to shift up/down 4-5-6. Yes, the trans still shifts up and down. It’s not perfect. However, you no longer need to put your foot to the floor to get a response. Again, definitely better. I’d venture to say if you never read all the complaints about the 3rd Gen powertrain you’d probably think it was fine on the ‘21.

    5. LED headlights. I wasn’t a big fan of them and felt like everyone on TW were a bunch of whiny, let’s say “bees”, about Toyota not having them. I am now sold on them. They are a great source of light and definitely make driving at night or rain easier. Guess I’m one of the bees now. Come on, Toyota! Make these standard.

    6. Radar cruise control. If you let the truck take control of the throttle the drive seems relaxed on the highway. Unfortunately, I live Philly and the roads are way too congested for extended use. On a couple of trips to the Poconos I was able to use and it’s nice. I found myself in the right lane doing 57 mph behind a line of cars in the right lane on a road with a 70 mph speed limit. After finishing my breakfast sandwich and Hiball energy drink, I turned it off and it was back to left lane driving/passing everyone.

    7. JBL radio. Wasn’t a must have for me but the sound is waaay better than the regular radio I had on the ‘16.

    8. Power rear glass slider.

Nice upgrade, good deal you like it, and being "fun sized", got a laugh out of me there, thanks.

Zero mechanical issues. The truck ran strong. I’d taken it on several road trips including FJ Summit in ‘19. It was my daily driver. Only oil changes, brakes and a set of tires for the 77k miles I put on it. Not counting the TSBs/advisories for the reflash, leaf springs and body/frame spraying. Toyota paid for those.

With the little bit I owed on it, a decent trade in offer and getting a really good deal on the price of the truck, it made sense for me to do it. And I had an itch for something new, lol.

    Congrats

I went from a 2018 2.7 utility ACLB to 2021 DCLB cement, and I love it

my favorites about my 21, smart touch door lock, heated seats, leather, moonroof, led, 4x4, v6, and auto sliding rear glass.
