Knowing that TW people love to help and there's some of us with motorcycle passions as well, I thought I'd post this up for a guy from the ADVRider forum. If anyone can help a guy out before the weekend, I'm sure he would appreciate it.

Just FYI. If the bike has an immobilized, he may need to order from the dealer.

I'll look at the post later and if there's something I can do, I'll try. ADV people are pretty helpful too.

    Too much to list.
It's a 93 XR650. There is no Immobilizer. he's in a bit of luck. There is a Honda dealer and cycle salvage place nearby that might be able to help him out.

(**EDIT: ) Also, I believe the ignition switch on the XR650L only has 2 wires. A Red and a Red w/ black trace. If the ignition is not locked, he can unplug the switch and jumper those two wires and it should start normally.

I'm not a member of ADVRider so if someone can get that info to him. I, and I'm sure he, would appreciate it!

If you don't see the post, it's been deleted. The guys who run that part of the forum are strict about post content. If it's not according to the rules, it gets nuked. Might seem draconian but there are a lot of posts they go thru.

That's not always a bad thing...too bad it's a post from someone asking for help though.

it's because TW copies front slashes as %2 and it craps out in the browser

Yeah. But, the volume of stuff that goes through the flea market is incredible. If the mods spent the amount of time required to fix/move/handle every broken post…you get the idea :)

Okey dokey. I called the guys at Fremont to arrange something for him. Plus, I direct messaged him and let him know what to do.

Now that I think of it I remember reading something on there about that. It'd be crazy for sure.

Looks like he's decided to order something from Rocky Mtn but otherwise, he has things under control.
