Well guys, its been awhile since I've been on here. Partially because of work/life, but mostly due to the fact that I was in a crash in my 2 1/2 month old TRD Sport and it was totaled. Coming home from work on a crazy twisted road, I found myself coming towards another car head-on in my lane. I managed to swerve into the oncoming lane where she then smashed into my front passenger wheel. I was very fortunate that I was not hurt at all, especially given the fact that she was high on prescription drugs at the time.

So it was tough to bring myself to come onto the site to see all of your beautiful Tacos :(. But alas, all of the insurance mumbo jumbo and legal stuff all panned out finally.

So here I am now, with a new SR5 Tacoma in Quicksand, which is the color I originally wanted. Seems things may happen for a reason.

I have had the truck now for a couple of weeks and have done just a few little cosmetic things to it.

    Husky Weatherbeater floor mats.
    tacoletters.jpg tacoletterflash.jpg
Reflective Black Tailgate Inserts from @rrentrop.
And I replaced my reverse lights with LEDs. Just haven't been able to get any pictures yet.

So anyways guys, just thought I'd get my story out there and hope I can be on here more often with some good conversation and some updates with my truck. Cheers!

what a story!. Glad you are safe. Did you mind stepping down to an SR5 from the Sport? I know you loose a lot of bells n whistles.

Hey brother. Sorry about your original loss.

Coming from a TRD sport to an SR. Is there certain features that you miss?

I hope your insurance gave you all your money back! If not. Was that the reason why you downgraded to an SR5?

Originally I wanted to get back into the Sport, but I decided to get the SR5 because it was a bit cheaper, and the fact that I found a Quicksand so quickly. But now that I've been in it for a little while, I actually think I like it better than the Sport. All of the bells and whistles were cool, but its something about holding the key in your hand when you crank the engine that just does it for me, haha. But don't get me wrong, I was very happy with the Sport, I am just happy to be cruising in a new Tacoma again.

Yeah I was able to recoup all of worth of the truck and a little more. I just thought about it for awhile and realized that I really didn't NEED the Sport model, and that the SR5 was plenty for me. So I was able to get into this one for a little cheaper, which was another plus.

Thanks man! Yeah I'm planning on getting some black rims for sure. Probably the TRD Pro wheels.

What are the back door panels like, do they have some of that orange there too?

Would you say your Tacoma saved your life? Or was it not as severe as it looked?

I would much rather have that manual desert sand SR5 than the mgm sport.

    Glad your Ok!

I like the quick sand but not a fan of the interior vinyl on the doors. Maybe it looks better in person. Did you add this? Thought it only came in the inferno color?

The back door panels are pretty much identical to the front, except smaller obviously. And the pictures make the color look a little orange. It is actually more of a caramel color in real life.

I don't know if I would say it saved my life....but I would say it saved me from injury I think. The amount of airbags this thing has is incredible. I came out of the collision with nothing but a broken watch band thanks to the safety systems in the truck.

It's actually an automatic. But I get almost everyone asking if its a manual believe it or not. I guess the shifter does look like it. Thanks though man!
