I always write up my own documentation. Date, VIN, mileage, detailed what work was done listing torque values used and amounts of fluids added...I then sign the bottom of the page and staple the receipts for any parts to it. Even if all you did was "inspect the drive shafts and found no areas of concern," I write it down. I have also added pictures and diagrams.

I have done this for about ten years now and never had any issues with warranty work.

I see your point, but if you put all of the money that dealers charge in an escrow account, you'd be way ahead of the game.

i can see the dealer's side. you spend money here, we're more likely to help you out when we can. but hey, i spent $24,850 at the dealer, ain't that worth something? next time i'm buying used private party. no more dealing.

no are you kidding!?! i thought the dealer got to pocket the whole purchase price.

brilliant. you mean, like, same as when you have service done they have to buy parts and pay employees? they make money good money selling cars, also, or else they wouldn't do it.

point is, i spent money at the dealership, and i probably will never again.

It's over the rear TSB issue. They look at it the first time, nothing wrong. I take it back again and take a tech for a ride, he says it's normal. I take it a third time with 500lbs in it and they tell me it's normal again. Hitting the bump stops is normal to those guys? So, here I sit at 37K miles, dealing with this for the last 2K miles and getting nowhere.

Ya, they gave me some grief when I was trying to get my idler pulley's replaced. They were like, oh you obviously offroad a lot. I was like, NOT since the last time I've had these pulleys replaced, and told them I had the extended warranty. They did the work, but it's annoying nearly forcing them to do anything!
