 I have a 2002 Tacoma 4x4. I wanted to install the new Bilstein 5100 series front shocks but the Bilstein kit sits up too tall to catch the threads. This bushing kit is supposed to be correct for the 5100 series shocks. Any help would be appreciated. Happy Labor day! Frank

What top hat is that??? Looks not to be right. Check link below, that's what they should look like. Also what clip are you running them at?? Going to have to compress that spring quite a bit. Caution advised.

:cool:The top hat is the stock support hat for my 2002 Tacoma. I'm going to run them at #3 setting which is about 1.33". The link you show is for a 2nd gen Tacoma top hat.

Is that a new replacement top hat? If so, it should already have a bushing bonded to it on the inside which means you wouldn't use one of the bushings that comes with the Bilstein. Assuming your top hat has the bushing inside, the assembly order would be lower washer, top hat, bushing that comes with Bilstein, top washer and then final nut. Bilstein (and other shocks) give the second bushing so that you can replace the worn out one if you are reusing the original top hat.

The top hat is not new ,it is the original oem hat. It has no bushing attached to it.

 Thanks for the feedback. I put the struts in yesterday. I used the bilstein kit and picked up a few oem bushings for the top as they are somewhat shorter.I used 2 pairs of spring compressors just to be safe! Frank
