Front 5100s vs Nitrochargers?

    I know nothing on the 3rd gens but if they are like the 2nd gens you might be able to get them in factory spec but that's not always ideal. I would recommend the SPC UCA. You can set caster pretty much where you want it. I have had them on mine for about 7 years. factory spec caster is from 1-3 degrees I'm running over 5 degrees and I like it

    Pretty sure you can run any OME coil on 5100s as long as the shock is kept at 0.

    People do run them, but Billstein doesn't recommend running such a heavy coil with the 5100s. They aren't valved for the rebound of coils that heavy. I think it's worth going with Nitrochargers.

    Also, those of you with the heavy coil and nitros, are you all using limit straps to prevent the shock from "topping out"?

    I just installed the complete OME 888 w Nitros and medium duty Dakars. LR UCAs, and the ride is phenomenal. I had 5100s on my gen2 4dr, and always felt they rode like bricks. I'm no wheeler by any means. That's why I opted for the soft valving. I didn't want a harsh ride AT ALL, and they def proved that point. It is Def stiffer than stock, but in the best way I've ever ridden in. Hope this helps.
    Also...I see most are adding a 3/8 spacer on driver side, the OMEs had the spacer built in to the strut, but I'm wanting to get rid of my rake and add a spacer. I'm 1" lower in the front than back...what are real #'s that y'all are getting w the 3/8 vs 1/4" spacer, and we're you able to use the factory studs??

    The Light Racing. It to me is the most "stock" replacement uca, and the ease of adjustment of the ball joint for alignments is super nice. Like I noted, I'm not a wheeler, I hunt, and need clearance for muddy rutted roads. This lift allowed me to run a 285 tire and have suspension I could drive daily and appreciate a 40k truck and not a tank

    See I've heard that there's one or two that... Like are prone to failure. I've no idea why, but is that one you have one of those or is it a good one? I mean, I presume anyone will try to get a good one lol

    I had the same ones on my 08 for over 5 years. The ball joints went bad, but that was because the first set they offered didn't have grease zerts. The bushings were still as tight when I sold it as they were when I installed .They are to me the most user friendly and dependable ones in the market. Only because that's the only ones I've used and don't have a comparison..lol. You can't go wrong w the Light Racing ucas. Thousands of Tacoma's have them.

    Spc or light racing UCAs had problems with there first generation of UCAs binding and breaking at the Uca bolt. They have since redesigned them and there isn’t any problem with them now. I had a pair of the first gen and broke one on the Golden spike trail. Had to Limp out 6 hours with ratchet strap holding them together. Called them and they sent me a pair of the redesigned UCA and I haven’t had any trouble out of them
