I did the chin spoiler removal for a month...its back on. Toyota engineers installed it for a reason...wind noise, and fuel economy, but you'll always have others that disagree they know more. I can only tell the op my results, they can decide from there.

Is that the same if a tree falls in the woods with no one around...does it make a sound? I think for some they have done other mods to their truck that they just accept the crappy fuel mileage their getting. Removing the air dam would mean nothing now.

Welcome to TW. If you possess a chin spoiler, sway bar, stock grille, 2WD, or spacer lift, you are not considered to be a manly man and therefore you are no longer entitled to opine on any topic related or unrelated ever again.

I pulled mine off within the first week of its purchase. No regrets. I doubt there is any significant change in either MPG or wind noise.

I love candid garage shots: “l’ve got one of those… and one of them too, and that there. Might have one of those blue thingies. I definitely need one of those. And wtf is that thing over there?”

Either that would be the fish fillet griller that I've never used, or the propane garage heater that I've used once.

I’ve got most of it figured, but I’m still working on what looks like a green handled chop saw of some sort over there.

I went the other way. Installed a huge down force air dam on my truck. Like this:

That would be my cheap sale price mitre saw that I bought for this project a few years ago :anonymous:

I did the exact same thing a few years ago, but only about half that size with a shed roof. But I’m a ‘yellow tool’ kinda guy.

Sorry OP for the threadjack.

Alright, one more, since it's an airdam thread and the weekend.

Interior of the shed is actually only half of what it appears. 10x11, only 5x11 is used for storage. The other half hides the entrance to a 1960s bomb shelter that came with the house.

I did the same thing. And like you I figure Toyota engineers put it on our trucks for a reason. The month I had mine off I did notice allot of wind noise on the highway. No drop in mpg though.

I personally think my truck looks better with it on. Plus, you WILL get fractionally better MPG and handling with it on since it reduces turbulence under the truck.

Gonna need a backstory here and pics of that fallout shelter! Do you use it as a root cellar now?

I use it to creep people the fuck out! It's mostly a novelty, since I can't figure out how to keep a 60 year old rusty metal structure from flooding. In the drought years it's fun though. I'll go down there, paint over the mold, replace the couch cushions, and it's good to party!
