Are there any benefits to the front air damper? My front damper has a significant crack in it so I decided to take it off.

Helps with gas mileage a bit but a lot of people take it off cause they think it looks ugly

I'm assuming that it will help with the approach angle. That's how I got a crack in mine. Approach a ditch and the damper got caught as I was going up. Visual inspection show only damage on the skid plate and scrapes on the Sports' factory skid plate.

You could use ABS glue and do a fix..!! Depends on what YOU do with the truck... You going thru that ditch again..?? Throw the Air Dam away..!!

    None as of yet
you lose about 1 mpg on average when you remove it. Off road and pro models do not have them so no shame it removing it.

Took mine off before having snow plow installed. I knew they would have sliced it up. Otherwise I would have kept it on. Think it looks pretty good.

I took off for a week and my MPG drops by about 2 to 3 gallons. I was averaging about 21 to 22 with the damper. Without the damper, I'm average about 19.

This video has the Toyota engineer talking about the air dam and approach angle about 1 minute in.
