Is this what you're referring to (Dorman pre-pressed axel assembly @ PartsGeek)?

Why do you say "gamble"? Do they have a bad reputation or you don't know about their reputation?

EDIT: Ok, yeah, I'm seeing a lot of ambient gripe about Dorman bearings. The whole pre-assembly idea is nice though. Wish someone would sell those assemblies but made with quality parts.

Some Doorman stuff is decent quality but most of it is garbage especially their electronic parts, don't have any experience with their loaded axle assemblies as of yet.

Also ran across this at Extreme Terrain ... the fact that they neglect to enumerate the brands of parts making up the assembly is concerning.

If you are worried about quality, go OEM.
Get an OEM bearing and have it pressed on.

There is a really good thread here that details the rear bearing replacement; it has all the PNs. Various aftermarket companies, including Timken, sell the identical Koyo bearing that Toyota uses.

A friend had a Toyota dealer do one of his rear bearings and it took about 4 hours to complete. The labor hours they charged was slightly more than it actually took to do it, but that was obviously someone experienced working on it
