    2" lift.
    my ECGS bearing tool worked perfectly when I replaced my needle bearing back in july. perfect fit. I do agree it is expensive for what it is.

    Perhaps there is a difference between model years. My ECGS tool was a mile too wide to do the job. There is no reality in which this tool would be even close to functional without at least an hour of grinding and test-fitting, unless you already knew the correct profile and OD to aim for. (Which I hope to have illustrated in the above posts.)

    There is a well-made youtube video showing a similar experience, although it was for a 7.5" clamshell on a 3rd gen 4R (or a 1st gen taco). I figured by now that ECGS would have their act together, and ship a correctly sized tool for the model and year you specify during the ordering process. But as of September 2019, that is NOT the case.

    I hate to crap on ECGS; they are offering an effective solution to a weakness in the original design of these trucks. I just wish they offered a tool that was either functional or reasonably priced -- but again, in my case, they did not.
