yeah you might be able to sneak roto packs on one side then the boards on the other. I wanna mount a fire extinguisher or a 5lb propane tank off the passenger side rail.

T30 Torx is the tool/hardware interface. I have an impact driver which made super fast work loosening the bolts with two smacks of my heavy dead-blow hammer. Unbolt and install!

I know where I thought I had to raise the shell, I was looking at center bed Molle panels.

 

Is this just a replacement for the bed rail? Or this something different?

 

It bolts up against the rail to the bed.

 

Interesting you say that as when I had to remove rail bolts by hand on my 2013 I found it was very challenging not to strip the heads but with my 2016 my M18 Impact zipped them out with zero drama. It must be a truck by truck basis.

 

I’m so confused, so it’s the factory piece that has the torque screws? I’m curious as im waiting for my campershell and was planning on removing it to seal underneath it and the corner as well. Wondering if this is something that helps or just the factory piece.

 

Never mind I’m dumb, and didn’t google the original part number correctly the first time. I see what it is now.

 

When I put in my mx4 tonneau, it came with weatherstripping squares for the header bar. I imagine you can either find some with adhesive and fashion your own square or it may come with the shell. Basically just foam with 3m sticky on one side

 

@Tacomamike18 and those who strip the T30 torx. I encountered same problem.
I drilled into torx with 3/16 bit. Put a punch into that hole and lightly struck with hammer - this should pop the head off, you can remove the other non stripped torx and pull the bed rail off. Obviously ruins the torx you drill.
You can replace with new non POS Toyota torx or m6-1.0×25mm hex.
