My front bed rail bolts just spin. The nut and square looking washer spin too. I'm wondering if the washer/nut were spot welded at one time and have come loose? There doesn't look to be much room to get between the bed and the cab.....is there a special tool? What have you'all done to fix this?

    thanks

There a small nutsert on the backside of the composite bed. It most likely came loose. Try putting some pressure on the nutsert by using a flathead screwdriver between the rail and bed header. If you pry up gently while turning the bolt slowly it might start to loosen. Otherwise you can get creative with pliers or extensions and reach the nutsert from beneath the truck. The ends can be accessed from the side of the truck between the cab and bed.

So putting pressure under the bolt head may pull the nutsert against the bed stopping it from spinning? What is the bed header? The front of the bed against the cab? I do not have the rail....just the bolts....I was going to put some tie downs on the bolts...... Is the nutsert installed from inside the bed or outside?....maybe tightening the bolt will squish the nutsert back?

Thanks Ghost Ship!!! Jammed some pliers enough to keep it from turning.
