Hello, I recently came back from a 6 month trip to find out that my front turn signals were acting up. I replaced both bulbs, installed a relay and now only the rear blinkers are working and the front two aren’t measuring any voltage on my external volt meter. The relay I installed was Novita LM449 and that required me to unplug a connector and install the relay in place of the wiring connection. The “flasher” relay is still in place however. All fuses checked good.

I think this is your problem. Why would you disconnect a cable harness and install a relay in it's place.

It’s an aftermarket modification meant to enable lower voltage LEDs to replace the traditional blinkers. It works with both incandescent and LEDs, so I thought it was odd also, but there is still the normal flasher relay in place off to the right of this relay panel underneath the steering wheel. I’ll try taking it out and putting the wiring connector plug back in it’s place, but the original problem still remains.. maybe I need to find the original flasher relay.

If you have the 12 pin (DRL/Tow Package) relay nobody makes a LED variant to my knowledge, the 8 pin (Non-DRL/Tow Package) flasher relay several aftermarket companies make LED replacement relays for.

The 12 pin relay can be modified for LED's.

I have an 09 TRDOR and have switched to Diode Dynamics LEDs and the DD smart flasher with no problems.

Have you tried pulling the added relay and checking for voltage without it?

You amateurs:rofl:, the vehicle is missing the jumper block in order for the "new" flasher to send power to the front turn signals.

If you have LED blinkers the resistance on them may be to low, if the resistance is to low this may cause the truck the think the blinker are burned out. When i installed led turn signals I needed to add a 6 ohm resistor to the circuit to mimic the resistance of a stock bulb.

Whoa, where do I get the jumper block from? I wonder if I can make it?

I pulled the 8 pin relay and now only the hazard lights work. The turn signal relay doesn’t click at all now.

Jumpers, but they would require a connector to hold them in place.
    1M - 90980 - 10802
Terminals on the jumpers are 090 - 2.3II type.

Thanks guys, encountered this very problem this afternoon, glad it's another plug-and-play fix to get the front turn signals to work. Ordered the jumper.

@caribe makaira , Thank you for this!

Your info allowed me to be able use the Diode Dynamics Smart Tap relay on my DRL equipped truck.

Instead of buying the OEM jumper block 82671-30360 (was on backorder) I removed the original Y-harness on the back of the fuse panel, de-pinned the 12 pin connector and made two jumpers from terminals 1-2 & 11-12. Perfect! my front turn signals work and no hyperflash!

Sending good karma your way :)
