Anyone have troubles with sticking pistons in the front brakes?

In 200K miles I have had to replace the calipers THREE times. Now they are under "free replacement" from the parts house. But seems to be a little bothersome anyways. I do replace the brake fluid every couple of years, but they still seem to stick up after some time.

both sides do it, and it's always the inside pair, kinda strange......

Are the calipers brand new Toyota or remanufactured? The quality of reman parts has gone WAY down in the last 15 years. Most parts are thrown into metal crates, shipped to Mexico or China, rebuilt with the cheapest parts and labor, and then shipped back. It has gotten to the point that I rebuild everything myself.

When I replaced a wheel stud on a front tire I noticed that the front side had uneven pad wear, with a stuck piston on my 2006. I have never replaced my front pads with only 52,000 miles and was going to do it soon. I know the pins will be rusted solid, would it be worth trying to free up the pins and reuse the caliper or am I better doing like you and just replace the caliper with Napa replacements?

You can get the pins separate, I put anti-seize on them so I can get them out next time. If the pistons aren't sticking, you will see when you push them in to make room for the new pads. I would use them just fine. If the pins come out, and the pistons move, it takes longer to take the tire off then change the pads.

I've had to replace calipers 3 times if memory serves. Both originals failed then one of the replacements did too.

One of the replacements came from Toyota, but I'm not sure if that's the replacement that failed.

I was wondering if it had something to do with the moisture level in my garage.

Thankfully, it's been a while as they don't give those things away.

My truck has a 150K, and other than the battery, really they're only parts that have failed.
