    All I can find at the part store are inverted flare unions. Are they the same as double flare? I get mixed answers when I search online.

    UNIONS for flare fittings are usually INVERTED FLARES on both sides (ie. they look like pimples when looking into the fitting). They are mated to SINGLE or DOUBLE flared tubing.
