Getting ready to do my front brakes and calipers. I'm sure the short steel brakes lines will be frozen to the caliper so I want to check if these are available anywhere (pre-bent) or what others have done to replace these? It doesn't look like this is a dealer item from what I could find. Thanks for your help.

They’re available at the dealer….if if you order calipers from us, we can include a set of the hard lines for $10 each

Ok so is 319mm the stock size? I want to be sure the 44245P is for the stock size system. So are the brake lines bent to match either side? Can you be sure they transport wo being twisted or bent? Thanks

Has anyone on this board used auto brake solutions for their braking rebuilds? Before I try them I would like to get other opinions. I was just about to order the raybestos until I saw this post. Let me know. Thanks

I’ve sold a bunch…presumably to some people on here.

the NiCop line material I use is very easy to bend…which IMO is an advantage since they always get tweaked when removing the caliper to change rotors…

All the 6 lug Tacos (2nd and 3rd Gen) use a 319mm rotor stock

No, these are not rebuilt calipers…these are 100% new aftermarket calipers…same as OE…even have 13WG cast into them.

If I put the order in for the 44245P calipers, how do I add the brake lines to the cart? You said 10.00 for both right? Thanks

FWIW, order/buy a set of self/speed bleeders and install them in the calipers before you even install them.

How do the self speed bleeders work and where do you get them? Thanks

They have a check ball in them…but air still gets sucked around the threads. Just grab the wife for 10 minutes and save your $$. Normal bleeders work fine.

They have a seal in them that only allows fluid out but no air back into the system. You can buy them at pretty much every auto store, Rock Auto, and multiple other places on line.

a glass of wine for the wife works like "assembly lube" to make the process easier...lol (during and after bleeding the brakes)

The 2 person way has always worked best for me. Better than vacuum or pressure bleeding.

Just establish what’s to be communicated.

Ok, ok, ok, ok? Huh? What am I supposed to do? What are you doing?

Pump, hold. (Open) Bottomed. (Close) Pump again. Pressure. Hold. (Open) Bottomed. (Close) Pump again. Pressure. Hold. (Open) Bottomed. (Close).

I should mention, opening the hydraulic lines like you plan has caused many people problems due to air getting into the abs module. Once that happens you’ll have something between mushy and no brakes.

What might work is to slightly depress the brake pedal and hold it there before you open the lines.

If you do get air in the abs, you could drive on a loose or wet surface, then slam the pedal to activate the abs. Then bleed again. If that doesn’t quite do it, you’re stuck with bringing it to a dealership or shop with the necessary software.
