Poster wears size 15s, his foot was still on the brakes while hitting the gas essentially line locking the truck. Problem solved!

Did you not read that he says the rear tires are spinning? It is not common at all for someone to spin their rear tires and STILL not have their car/truck move after washing their car/truck.

Wait until one of your brake lines burts going down a steep hill. 2008, you got maybe 5 years to go.

I was just wondering why someone would use the E brake while parked and washing the truck like some one else posted . I can see using it if you are parked on a very steep hill . Or in an incident like you stated .

It's very scary when you press the brakes and the pedal goes to the floor! It's nice to have the ebrake to at least slow you down.

Never had this happen out of many vehicles and hundreds of washes. Trucks, cars, and motorcycles.

Just get up on the converter and flash stall it and the brakes should release easily !!!!

Ok. Perhaps the fronts were frozen. This happens as well. I can't speak for everyone, but it's very common in my life. Before I touch heavy equipment it gets run through a washline. These guys hit it with all sorts of corrosive cleaners, degreasers and whatnot. By the time it gets to me, rotors are already oxidizing. About 2 weeks ago I was working on a component and had the wheel off, and needed to spin the hub. Wouldn't spin for shit. Made sure the equipment was aired up, still wouldn't go. Stuck rotor/pad due to washline. I had to get on it with a pry bar to break it free. I don't know what all the factors are in this "phenomenon", it could be fucking anything from carbon content in rotor, what kind of soap you're using, what the pad composition is, humidity, and who knows what all else. If the pads stuck because there was a corrosive cleaner used, or if they stuck because that rotor just happened to be in a lot that got carbon soaked... I don't know. But they will hold pretty good sometimes, and on my Subaru I've had to give it gas to the point the car was squatting from the torque to break these free. And after... the rotors will vibrate during braking.
