Front bumper/armour

Up to what year are our tacomas fron bumpers interchangable? I have a 95.5. And when doing this should I look into beefier coilovers?

 

if you're looking at a steel bumper, then yeah, you'll need stiffer springs.

I'm pretty sure a 98 or 99 bumper will fit, but not entirely sure. If you're buying a new bumper it won't matter, just get one for your year.

Iirc, some bumpers that work for the later fist gens (2001-2004) just need some minor modification to fit the earlier models. Look up some bumper manufactures like Relentless to be sure.

 

I believe only 98-00 are different from 95, 96, 97, and 01-04

 

You could always do a part number search from a place like rock auto or a factory parts supplier to be sure. Look through various years and see when part numbers change.
