I'm trying to figure out why the front bumper on my brand new Taco, is a yellowish hue. When I look closely I can see that the paint is a different color, it almost looks like a film has been applied. However when I spoke with the service department of the dealership I purchased it from I was told that they do not apply any films to the front bumper unless it was specifically purchased that way.

Does anyone have any information here, can some of y'all that also own white taco's check your bumper and let me know if you get the same discoloration in dim light?

Please take a look at my pictures, I specifically targeted the area where the bumper ends and the fender-well begins because the change is easier to see there.IMG_1957.jpg IMG_1958.jpg IMG_1959.jpg IMG_1960.jpg

Maybe it was purchased that way. It comes on the "Vehicle Protection Premium Package" in my area.

Your truck is A-OK friend. The reason for the color difference is that paint shows different on sheet metal (your fender), versus how it does on your bumper (composite plastic sort). It is simply the difference of the two body pieces. Go look at any other manufacturer's brand new cars, you'll see the same paint difference. To me, whites show it a little more obvious (it caught your eye, right?).

    No worries though

Thank you both for your replies! The composite vs sheet metal difference definitely makes sense, I was honestly worried that the dealer to an SR bumper and used it on my SR5 to save cost, and while in the process the paint batch was a bit off. That's good news, now I can rest easy.

Gotta wonder still, if any other taco owners have even noticed this? Maybe I'm just a little ridiculous.

Every owner has it to varying degree.

And every modern car on the road also.
