Wow, I'm glad I found this thread. I'm just getting ready to install a similar bumper:

    It's the Barricade one:

I was wondering if I can cut the "chin" in such way that it would be easily to put back afterwards.
The instructions suggest trimming the entire perimeter of the lower opening, which would remove the holes for snapping in the little plastic grill.
But I'm hoping that isn't necessary.

It's required to cut as shown.
    I installed a Barricade Bumper too (TT13416).
I did it without taking the bumper off though. 3 of the clips were real hard to reach. I got the center one off with a long screwdriver, but because you can't go back after cutting, I elected to just break off the 2 really hard ones to reach. Much easier than removing the bumper.

2nd Gen or 2.5 Gen. No. Once you cut the chin that an undoable thing. unless you know someone who is really good at welding plastic.

Thanks for the heads up guys.
Yeah, I was hoping to get creative with plastic welding and add one or two tabs to the left and right where I need to cut, so it could be put back.
But ideally, if it were possible to avoid trimming the top edge, so I could keep the rectangular holes for the row of clips along the top.
    Maybe I'm kidding myself though...
