I am looking to get a front bumper and have narrowed it down to 2 choices of all that I've seen so far:

    Elite plate bumper = $750 + shipping.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/elite-off-road/99151-96-04-elite-off-road-plate-bumper.html

    or...

    All-Pro tube bumper = $500

This is my daily driver so I'm not trying to make it an "extreme" trail vehicle...not yet anyway. I'll have to get another daily driver before I turn this into a rugged trail vehicle.

I like the Elite plate bumper because it hides the a lot of the "raw" frame and body parts that are revealed by removing the stock bumper and it can incorporate the turn signal/fog lights, but I like the All-Pro tube bumper because of its light weight design, lower cost and the low profile light bar...plus All-Pro is local.

i have always like the plate bumpers. and i would chose that one, but it is heavier and it might effect your mileage (not sure though since i dont have one).

but to me it looks 10x better than tube bumpers, and worth the extra penny.

Elite for sure. I love the way that it looks like it belongs on the front of the truck and not just sitting on the truck.
