I'm going to try and explain this as best I can without pictures at the moment. I just bought an 09 Tacoma and the owner had put a custom front bumper on himself. It's a great solid number and I really like it but there is one issue with it. One side is a little higher up than the other, by fractions of an inch, and whenever I hit a bump it is bumping up against the front fender and headlight unit. I put small felt pieces in between the bumper and the fender to reduce the amount of vibration between the two but it's not helping much. I'm not sure how I can fix it.
It seems minor but I dont want it to get worse and it really is just annoying since it sounds like something is loose up front when I hit a bump.
So the question is, does anyone have any ideas on how to adjust the spacing on one side of the bumper to lower it just slightly? I will take pictures ASAP.
    Thanks

Post pictures. If it was a well designed bumper it should have some ability for adjustment. You should have around 1/2" of fender clearance for the exact issue you're having.

As Eric said, well made bumpers should be able to be adjusted a bit. Look at the point where it mounts to the frame. The holes may be oblong to allow for adjustment.

If that doesnt work u may be able to put washers betewwn the bumper and the bottom of the frame to lower that side a bit

I was thinking about putting washers in between to lower it a bit but the only mounting points i see are not horizontal but vertical. Here are some pics. Like i said its very small differences but the one side is hitting the headlight housing and fender from behind.
I have no idea why everytime i post pictures they are upside down. Sorry

loosen the bolts holding the bumper in place and check for any play where you can adjust it.

If not, you may have to remove the bumper and elongate the holes where they mount to the truck to give the extra clearance needed

I just removed the only 4 bolts that i can see holding the bumper on. There is no room to adjust up and down, the holes are not oval shaped to allow for adjustment.
So i guess i have to take the bumper off and have someone elongate the mounting holes. Not what i wanted to do. Im stumped. Any other ideas?

If the holes are not elongated, you will need to elongate them to adjust it. I see the OR plate, where are you located?
Also, double check the number of studs/nuts holding it on. I believe there are 6 if I remember right.

There are 3 per side. Two that can be seen from your pictures, one hidden. Here's an example of where it is, look in the background of this picture to give an idea of where to look.
