front bumper mount failing

so i was winching over a rock wall yesterday and i nearly pulled the front bumper right off the frame. the thin metal that the bumper bolts to bent and stretched. I know a while back i saw someone selling weld on plates or something the beef up the front bumper mounting area but i cant for the life of me find it now. Can anyone point me in the right direction? thanks in advance.

i googled that too but when you get to the website you will find they only have them for 3rd gens

 

will do. i have his rear high clearance bumper and its my favorite part of the truck.

damn thats some pretty impressive work. i might try to do something like that

 

I made a set of reinforcement plants but never bothered to install them for that reason. Adding a plate to the front of the mount certainly helps but it really needs to be tied back to the frame to resist pulling.

 

Same. I won’t get another rear bumper since I’m very pleased with his (it’s my third one haha)

 

talked to billy at bruteforce today. hes going to make me a set of weld on plates for the bumper mounts and a set of brackets to reinforce it. that should do the job.
