Hey there all, I can’t find anything online about the part that goes here on the image below. Hopefully someone who is more knowledgeable can help me. 2002 Toyota Tacoma. I need to know what the part is so I can buy it, I crashed this thing and destroyed that front bar and the little crush pads, I need to know the official name of the crush pads that’s all. I don’t need the reinforcement bar.

I might have a pair you can have for shipping if you are interested, I can look around this afternoon. But you should be able to track them down using an online Toyota dealers system.

Okay I’ll see what I can find with the dealer, I just need them before my new bumper comes because the new bumper that I’m putting together requires them I’m pretty sure. Depending on price I’ll get back to you on your pair if you find them.

What bumper are you using? For most (all?) aftermarket bumpers they need to be removed. I took a quick look and I cant find the part number for those, they may be NLA from Toyota, not sure.

I just bought a coastal off-road bumper fab kit, I’ll attach a link. But I swear I watched a video where the guy took off that reinforcement bar, but left those crush blocks there. Here’s a pic I found on YouTube of the things, I tried looking for them online and I can’t find a similar image. It looks different in the blueprints online.

I don’t think you’ll need the crush can for that bumper because all aftermarket bumper eliminate those pieces altogether

Seemed like it. That crush piece is flimsy but I guess their integrate it into their mounting.
I have no clue prior to this

It’s all good, I’m gonna try and call my local dealer and see if they can get one and what the price would be. I didn’t know they were referred to as “crush cans” that might help my search.

Frame horns maybe? Is that bumper said to be SRS compatible? That may be why it uses them, just a thought.

Just called Toyota Parts and the old man there is always a hardass, mean for no reason. But I asked him about that item the “crush can” and that it’s rectangular tubing connected to the reinforcement bar. And he said he doesn’t see anything like that connected to the reinforcement bar and I’d have to see the schematics in real life. I told him I’ve seen the schematics on the internet and he said these are schematics that can’t be found on the internet, then I proceeded to describe the exact thing he was looking at and he got even more mad that I proved him wrong. So my only hope is to buy these things off of someone who has them because Toyota doesn’t carry them I guess.

Yes MadNachos I have an SR5, that could be a differentiating factor.

I think he's saying SRS (airbags) rather than the trim.

Ohhhhh ok, well either way I can’t find anything on this at all. All the official Toyota parts make it look like a bracket. No crush cans at all. This is frustrating and lame

    No part number
Here you go. Did some homework and I think it’s correct. Part number might be obsolete, buying used might be your best bet

Hell yeah, you think that cross member comes off so I can just use the crush cans?

No. it’s one piece IIRC. You can cut the cross section off but that defeats the purpose, strength and integrity
