Yeah but in the video the guy takes that reinforcement bar off, and he attaches the aftermarket bumper to the crush cans

Yea, can be cut off. But from Toyota, it’s welded as one piece.

I will dig around later, got busy with work, it's 50/50 if I have them. But I will look. Sometimes I collect things and sometimes I am pissed that I collect too much, so it depends on what mood I was in when I removed them...

    Screen grab from 7:38...

I'm seeing the cross member fully intact, he's just removing the crash bar (the part in his hand).

Using this picture as a reference:

    upload_2025-5-6_20-29-41.png

The actual cross member, at the bottom of this picture, is oriented toward the rear of the truck. It supports the skid plate. In the video, he says he removes the plates from the front (top in the above picture) of the frame extension, but otherwise the part appears to be used in its entirety.

You can see more clearly at 8:55

I think the confusion here comes from the differences in front-end design between model years. Prior to 2001, the cross member was permanently welded to the frame, and instead of the crash bar there were crush cans. I think that's what @MadNachos is thinking of.

Examples of earlier trucks with permanent cross member and crush cans. These trucks don't have the full-width crash bar.
