I stopped by a local 4x4 shop (TOR-FAB) to find out about getting a lift installed.
The guy in charge seemed pretty knowledgeable and I told him I would need to figure out how much extra weight I would be adding by means of a front bumper before I would decide on the lift.
He told me that all but ARB bumpers void the warranty and be unsafe by affecting the crumple zone up front. I must admit, that's the first time I've heard that one. My 77 Scout uses other car's crumple zones.:D
Just wondering if anyone has heard a similar line?

Replacement of the front bumper doesnt void the warranty. And any warranty item that would be voided would have to be a defect caused by adding the bumper and the burden of proof is on Toyota.

That said ARB is one of the only bumpers that is crashed tested and compatible with all safety regulations and airbag requirements.

I have heard the "void warranty" line before but its made as a blanket statement and thus false. Consumers are protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act
