A66F2C5E-B30A-43AA-A0E5-211D9A17E748.jpg Hey y’all I’ve been seriously thinking about putting a front bumper replacement on my truck instead of the bull bar I currently have. I have noticed some of them are aluminum and some are steel. I’m wanting y’alls opinion on them and if I would have to go with stiffer springs on the front if I went that route. I do have a 3in lift on it.

It entirely depends on what you’re doing with your truck and what you want out of it. Steel is going to be stronger and more durable while aluminum is going to be lighter. Anyone that is super serious into off-roading tends to go steel but if you are just concerned about shopping carts you should be fine with aluminum.

Yea the only off-roading I do is for camping trips, hunting or fishing, nothing serious at all.

If you’re talking about plate bumpers, then yes Id say you should get stiffer springs, especially if you go steel. Some aluminum ones may be light enough, but I’m not totally sure.
I dont personally have one, so I can’t say much more. A lot of vendors here on TW make some good looking ones for the 12-15!

I'm running an ARB on my '13 without a winch. Net weight gain was 131lbs and the front end dropped at most 3/16". I'm on stock SR5 springs. One thing to keep in mind: hoops over the headlights will shade the upper light bleed making a sharp cut off. If that is a concern and you want hoops make sure they are well above the lights.
