TL;DR. Will raising the front to 3" fix my bumper rubbing issue?

I've got a 2.5" Bilstein lift with 285s. I'm rubbing the front bumper in parking lots which I find odd because I've only heard of rubbing on the mud flaps and cab mounts.

I may bump it up to 3" with 887 springs in a few months. Will that solve the problem? For what it's worth, I'm not rubbing on the cab mount or anywhere else, just the front bumper.

Is it the fender lining or the actual edge of the fender? Yes putting 887's on will fix it but if its the fender lining then just trim that out of the way.

I have what I believe to be the same lift you have(not really sure, bought it that way) and the same wheels/sized tires.

I only noticeably rub while turning in reverse. I'm planning on trimming the lip of the fender where it's rubbing. I'll snap a picture next chance I get

It's not the liner. It's rubbing on the lower corner of the bumper and the little black wind deflector thing.

The wind deflector should be easy to cut out of the way, use a dremel tool. The lower corner you have 2 options.. Either go with 887's or you can trim the fender, many people do it who go to 35" tires but they obviously trim a lot more than you should need to. Can you post a picture of exactly where its rubbing? Is it rubbing really hard or just barely?

Here's a picture, there is a little rubbing on the front inner fender, it only happens in reverse

Yeah I bet 887's would fix it, not 100% sure though

It looks like the deflector will have to be cut even in I lift it higher, I'll chop it off soon.

The bumper isn't rubbing too bad but it's really loud.

I just put on 285s and had the same issue. I just pulled out the Dremel and cut away some liner and then some of the painted plastic fender and now everything clears fine. Are you still running mud flaps in the front? I have husky ones that wont fit anymore.
