Yet the same part number......nothing in the description to make ordering this foolproof?? He said it was from the OR??? I'll try again!

I understand that. But he was more like by the book kind of guy. Like for example, I went there and asked for blazing blue pearl touch up paint for a 3rd gen tacoma -- still asked for the VIN.

The smooth black ones are meant to be painted, I think.

Buy it online if you don't like your dealer's prices.

Yeah, they obviously ordered the paintable version. I'll try AGAIN in the morning, otherwise maybe it's an omen to just get it painted Inferno:(. BTW with shipping the cost was $164.00.

I can not find anywhere that sells them painted, only smooth paintable and the textured black.

I just looked there and the ones they sell as white are ones that need to be painted. Same part number on all of the colour ones but no paint code for the colour. I called one dealer in the states with the same part numbers and they stated it would need to be painted.

You can see that the painted ones are different part numbers.

When I looked into it the super white number is raw paintable plastic, the w/sport pkg one is actually the OR and pro one (black textured) and the others with the same 04200 number have the paint code added to the part number sothose come painted but unfortunately not the white one.

So in short I guess we weee both right in a way. Just not for the one I need....

I think it was mentioned in this thread or elsewhere that white was the only color unavailable pre-painted from Toyota.

Quick question. When removing the shrouds on either side of the radiator to access the blue clips, I see the push pin in the center that is easily removed. Can somebody please advise about the clips on the vertical edge of the shroud on the engine side? Very near the sides of the radiator? Can I just pull straight out to pop free or is there some way to "unclip" first? I am having a hard time seeing the back of the clip. I don't want to break the clip by pulling on it. Thanks!

I feel like i'm blind, where are these blue clips???

Found them, someone really needs to make a video for those wanting to paint their pieces, took me an hour to get the clips out.
