I have a stripped banjo bolt for the front caliper, i replaced both the calipers, rotors, and pads one side went together great no problems, the other side i noticed the bolt was stripped before i put it into the caliper, but before i walked away from it for the night, with it leaking i went ahead and tried it in the caliper, it wouldn't get snug enough to stop leaking.

i have ordered a replacement, actually i ordered 2 just in case the caliper got messed up somehow, i will have a backup, as it will take till the end of the week to get it in at the toyota dealership, and nowhere else seems to have one.

do i have any options but to wait it out?

I hope you put tundra brakes on instead of replacing the original brakes with the factory Tacoma brakes? For the amount of money you just spend you could have done the tundra brake swap.

As for the banjo bolt, some manufactures don't quiet machine the inside of the calliper deep enough for the banjo bolt to go all the way in. I had this issue with the 231mm tundra callipers. I cut down the banjo bolt.

It sounds like your calliper is stripped. There should be no reason that the bolt shouldnt go all the way in. At that point common sense should kick in and you should stop tightening it. Either cut down your new banjo bolt by a few threads or re tap your callipers. Make sure to clean the metal shavings out after.

didn't even know that was a option for a brake swap, as to the stripping of the threads, it wasn't in the new caliper, in fact the bolt never even got into it cause i looked at it and noticed it was stripped prior to installing it, it looked like the threads on the bolt were more shallow on the side that starts the threads then they were on the other end, like the thread had been filed down or something, and this is the bolt that came out of the old caliper, and then went looking for a new one only to find it is a dealer only item. i later did try to tighten it in just to get the fluid to stop leaking so i might not have a completely empty system when the bolt shows up in several days, but it wouldn't snug up at all. but the bolt was all the way in.

i ordered 2 of the bolts just in case i have another problem, but the caliper was new, and i put one from the same manufacturer on the other front wheel and it worked perfectly, so short of a defect both should work the same and be ok.
