I have a 2021 taco trail with the blackout package and upgraded grill. My question is I have the spot for the front camera and looks like all the wiring is there how hard is it to get the camera to work

Toyota has the habit of placing an almost complete wiring harness on all models. Wires/harness is there but has no equipment/item to complete the missing system. And if you do get the parts from NEW or USED, there is the added co$t$ of dealer activating the gear.
You could go aftermarket for the Front Camera.

just get a mini cam and mount it right to your windshield and it plugs right into your rear view mirror, about $130 bucs includes the camera, plug & play harness and barely visible. took me literally 2-3 minutes to install.
