Not trying to hijack thread, but how you get power to your switch to light up? I got the anytime backup camera kit, everything works fine except no light on switch.

Has anyone drilled into the trd pro grille while it was on the truck?

Yes, I did. On page 1, Dammit Evie shows a template cutout he made of the camera base with a hole for the bolt location. I did the same thing and used a silver sharpie to mark the bolt location before I drilled. I did this so my camera could set flush with the grill and not poke out like some of the others I've seen. I had to cut a little bit of the bracket on the inside of the grill so the bolt would turn. The camera sticking to far out may also have to do with the different cameras/sizes out there...maybe.

The middle camera light? Sounds like you have everything wired correctly because red (switch wire) goes to red (relay wire), orange (switch wire) goes to orange (radio connector wire), green (switch wire) goes to green (radio connector wire) and then black to ground. Maybe the switch bulb/LED is out. I watched some videos with the same switch and mine like there's stays on when the ignition is on. I wanted to run the middle light so it only lights up like the OE switches, only when the headlights are on, but the diagram seems to indicated the red wire does more then just light it up (activates the relay) and there isn't a separate wire just for the light like other aftermarket switches.

Not try to jack this thread either but quick one about this switch. How does the blue back lighting compare to the factory switches, does the brightness and shade of blue match? That might sound nit picky but I had the "OEM style" switches in my old truck and I found amber colour wasnt even close and they were much brighter, made them stick out like a swore thumb.

If possible a nightime photo would be great.

Not really close either. More of teal blue and a lot brighter. I had a 97 Tacoma with red interior lights and an aftermarket fog light switch that illuminated bright orange. I pulled the fog light switch apart and went over the inside of the lenses (not the bulb) with a red sharpie. It then matched perfectly with the other lights and never came off or faded. This light not matching also bugs the heck out of me. I may order another one of these switches and try that again.

Do you have a pic of the view on the screen when on? Curious how much you can see

He beat me to it, but I would also very much appreciate a screenshot of your view with the camera in that location. This looks to be a pretty ideal spot. Thanks in advance!

Thanks alot, I appreciate it. I bought the OEM "birds eye view" button out of a new Highlander, it'll fit in the Tacoma switch blanks but its a momentary push button so Im not sure how to adapt it to this application. Ill have to some reasearch. Sorry Ill let you guys get back on topic

You have a picture and pt# that might actually work for the beatsonic button. It seems more like a momentary button than on/off

    Heres there switch I have:

    20190528_193600.jpg

Beatsonic setup looks good but I want one that does both front and rear camera. So itll go: normal radio, then push button itll show front camera, press again itll show rear camera then press again and back to normal radio. I might have to make something custom

That’s exactly what you do for the beatsonic kit and all done from the one button, which is why when you said a momentary button I thought it would be a perfect swap

I appreciate the pt#, not really digging the logo on the button

Edit: unless you can explain what it is. I mean I see a tea cup right now

I have the beatsonic. I swapped out the internals of the beatsonic switch into the ch4x4 front camera switch. When I get some time I’ll post pics.

If you muck around with the two switches, you’ll see how it can be done.

I’m not interested in a ch4x4 switch but since you had the switch open and seem to know more than me… can you tell me if the beatsonic switch is a momentary switch? If it is then hooking up the stealth pro stage2 should be a simple hookup. I can’t remember exactly how many wires the beatsonic switch had- I’m thinking 3. Do you remember which colors did what?

Haha its an old school security camera
    cctv7517.jpg

Not the best looking switch but for me the main thing is it matches all the other switches perfectly.

I will have to look at the beatsonic befter, I thought you could only have front OR rear camera, not both
