i have an 04 tacoma with a 2.7L my front differential is leaking out gear oil from were the cv axle slides in on the front right or passangers side i pulled the cv out and installed a new seal..... that did not fix it i pulled it out and did it all over again thinking i jacked up the seal i used a 2 1/2 inch socket to press it in ... still leaked when i put it back togethher i did a little research and i read that it could be the bearings behing the seal i have taken the two ring clips out and slid the bearings out to the end of the axle but they wont come all the way out so i stopped before i damamged anything any advice on replacing those bearings would be great

I have the same issue on my '08, did the exact same work you did... had the same results as you did. I haven't done anything about the bearing. I'm probably taking it in, I'll try to post here the results.

im trying to figure out if i have to pull the differential to get the bearing out and how it is conected to the drive axle that goes to the gears ive seen on east coast gear supply that replace it with a bushing that decreases the play in the cv axle and it helps to seal it up but iv only seen it on the drivers side

From what I know, the ECGS fix is only for the driver side, there isn't anything on the passenger side for them to replace.

Mine came from Toyota and I was very gentle with it, so I'm out of ideas so far. Maybe it's that bearing like you are talking about.

Fixed up my truck over the weekend, no more drippy differential. Found an OEM shaft from a yard for $70, cleaned it and popped it in. That's the only thing that was wrong.

Autozone CV will be a limp-home trail spare
