I have been seeing some minor leak coming from the front end of my truck. It was a minor leak until I drove 3 hours this past weekend. When I got home there was quite a bit of oil around the front suspension. So this afternoon I finally got around to cleaning up some of the oil and went for a drive to try and pin point the leak. It looks like the rear oil seal on the front diff is leaking. Actually it looks like the oil seal at the rear drive shaft to the transfer case is also leaking. I was looking through the factory service manual files and it looks like it shouldn't be to hard to change out.

Does anyone know of any write ups on changing the oil seals?

I had this happen on my old Jeep and it was really easy to change, but the access was way easier with the solid front axle.

Does anyone know if you can just pope the oil seal out with a screwdriver? Or is there some special puller tool you need?

I actually brought my truck into the dealership to get the timing belt and water pump changed out, so I am having them change the oil seal for me. I am having problems with a leaking power steering rack as well, so that is also getting changed out.

Sorry I couldn't be of any help!
